Deb Purcell is the Director of the MPS II Research Fund within The Isaac Foundation, a Canadian registered charity. Since their son Trey’s diagnosis in 2006, the Research Fund has granted over $350,000 to MPS II Research projects around the world.
As a result of the diagnosis, Deb became an advocate, an author and a speaker on rare disease. You can read her blog at: www.treypurcell.com. In addition, to learn to cope with the intensity of mothering a child with a progressive disease, Deb took her yoga teacher training and now teaches yoga and meditation.
When she’s not teaching yoga or advocating for rare disease, you can find Deb spending time with her life learning family, Trey, Avery, Sadie and partner Ryan at home in North Vancouver, BC, Canada.
