I’m excited to hopefully attend the Mayo Clinic Social Media Summit and Residency this fall held at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. I hope to learn more about using social media to raise awareness and funds for rare disease and help more families in their fight. However, the cost of a flight, hotel, and tuition can run in the neighborhood of $5,000.
This is where you come in!
The Mayo Clinic has graciously created the Patient/Caregiver scholarship contest that will award three scholarships to the conference. Entrants have to write an essay about their use of social media in health care, how they would contribute to, as well as what they’d hope to learn from, the conference. Finalists are determined by the number of likes, tweets, and comments.
Just scroll down to the bottom of the essay, click the “like” or “tweet” button or leave a comment and that counts as a vote! I would love it if you would forward this post or retweet to others as well!
I am extremely passionate about awareness of rare disease, Hunter Syndrome in particular, given the fact that Case was diagnosed through an awareness opportunity – Mystery Diagnosis. In addition, social media has become an amazing way to support and connect families, raise funds, and search for a cure! Please help me continue this effort!
